About us
Tom McDonnell (Founder, Lead Developer) has been working professionally in web development since 2007. He has worked in both the private and public sectors, doing mostly back-end web development. His career highlights include developing a time recording system for a government department, and developing a fully automated task scheduling system for vehicle repairers.
Tom has encountered the problem of converting spreadsheets to online databases repeatedly throughout his career. In 2020, while stuck at home due to the COVID lockdown, Tom pitched the idea of Flatpack Apps to Rex Hartley, who was his boss at the time. Rex saw the potential of the idea, and agreed to partner Tom in this new endeavour.
Rex Hartley (Founder, Director) has over 40 years experience managing and running businesses over a variety of industries. He currently remains a Director of WebTRIM Pty Ltd, a niche software development business, specialising in improving the profitability and efficiency of people in the crash repair industry, that he pioneered 20 years ago.
Rex is also an Executive Director of L'arte Central - a cafe that besides serving great coffee and meals, has a mission to help people who are dealing with challenges relating to mental health.
